The foot and ankle are amazingly complex structures that take a huge amount of force with every step that you take. Your foot and ankle is made up of an astonishing 28 bones, 38 muscles, 25 joint complexes and 214 ligaments. It is therefore not surprising that foot and ankle problems are common affecting 75% of people at some stage in their lives.
The ankle is made up of the bones of the lower leg (tibia and fibula) forming an arch over the talus bone in the foot. This is actually a flexible arch that opens slightly when bending the ankle and closes when extending it. If this does not occur properly or the mechanics of the joint are not in good alignment, increased painful pressure occurs.

None of us enjoy having a headache. But yet, headache is the third most common pain complaint worldwide. Not only are headaches common, they can also be very disabling, leading to a decreased quality of life.
Many people do not realize that Manual Therapy for headaches is one of the best, most effective treatments available today.
Following are the main categories of common headaches and their separate causes:
Tension and cervicogenic headaches
Migraine and cluster headaches
Secondary headaches resulting from another underlying illness, such as sinus infection, infectious disease, tumor or other serious illnesses.
Cervicogenic Headache
A cervicogenic headache is highly treatable in Manual Therapy. These headaches come from a neck problem and the pain is referred into the head.
Symptoms:
Pain on one side of the head only
Neck pain and dysfunction of neck mechanics.
Common locations
Base of the skull,
Behind the eye or in
A line from the base of the skull toward the face or eye

Manual Therapy is the best medicine for tension type headaches.
Symptoms:

Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) is a drug-free option to effectively treat symptoms of vertigo, dizziness, motion sensitivity and other balance disorders.
Common Vestibular Disorders We Treat:
BPPV (benign paroxysmal positional vertigo)
BPPV is the most common and easily treated of the vestibular disorders. The vertigo most commonly occurs when you roll over in bed, look up, or bend over. The vertigo usually lasts under a minute.
Labryrinthitis / vestibular neuritis:
This infection causes inflammation of the vestibular nerve due to viral infection. The main symptom is an acute onset of prolonged severe vertigo that is exacerbated by head movement associated with nausea and imbalance. If temporary or permanent hearing loss also occurs with the above symptoms then a diagnosis of labrynthitis is made.
Meiner’s Disease:
Meiner’s Disease: a diagnosis of Meiner’s is given when several attacks are experienced which involve fullness of the ear, reduced hearing, tinnitus (ringing in the ear) vertigo, imbalance, and nausea and vomiting. When there is no attack hearing will return, but possibly not to baseline.

Your surgeon has done a fine job in surgery repairing your damaged body. However, this doesn’t guarantee full success in your ability to return to normal activities. Prior to and after surgery, joint motion and muscle strength are lost quickly.
The purpose of pre- & post- operative rehabilitation is to provide a rapid recovery and optimal outcomes from surgery. Our therapists maintain close communication with the physician regarding the individual treatment plan and the scope of the patient’s needs.
Treatment frequency and duration will depend upon individual functional limitations, tissue healing, and specific protocols. Treatment plans will typically include:
Modalities and Physical Agents to decrease pain and swelling
Strengthening exercises
Activity guidelines (do’s and don’ts) to both protect and optimize outcomes
Return to sports/activities schedule to facilitate your understanding and participation for your goals
A home exercise program that the patient can do independently by following written instructions from the therapist
Our post-surgical rehab program is ideal for:
Knee, hip and shoulder joint replacements
ACL, MCL, PCL and LCL tears of the knee
Meniscus and arthroscopy surgery recovery
Shoulder post-surgical recovery for rotator cuff tears, arthroscopy and more
General rehabilitation after surgery
